My 19 year old daughter has a bucket list.  She’s nineteen, people.  She has a bucket list, and I don’t.  My whole life I have been a realist.  I have never been a dreamer.  I wish I was a dreamer.  I want to be a dreamer.  My life will be better as a dreamer.  This page is dedicated to me being a dreamer.

I keep this little light up sign by my desk in my home office as a constant reminder.  I am a dreamer, I am a dreamer, I am a dreamer.  Stay tuned as I randomly post ideas for my bucket list here!  Send me a message if you have great bucket list ideas!

# 1.  Travel to all 50 states

This has always been a desire, so now I’m writing it down to help it come to fruition.  I’ve lived all over the country, South Dakota, Arizona, California, Nebraska, Michigan, Texas, and Georgia over my 50-something years, and I’ve been to 49 of our 50 great states.  NOTE:  For my purposes, layovers at airports do not count! But you do you with your bucket list!

The states I need to visit:

  • Hawaii – one left!!

I traveled this year with my pug Mowgli, and he now has a 50 states bucket list as well. He’s been to 34, so we may need to get back on the road!

#2 Do a Random Act of Kindness Every Day for a Year

In my human-ness, I tend to get bogged down in my own worries, problems (first-world problems, of course), and needs (which are actually wants disguised as needs).  So, I would love to commit to do a random act of kindness every day for a year.  Yeah…that’s pretty scary.  But, I am going to use the Random Acts of Kindness website for inspiration and motivation.  My prayer is that I will make a positive impact on other people each day, but I know in the process, it’s me who will be changed by this exercise.

#3 Go on a Luxury Train Ride

This has always intrigued me.  It could be the US, Europe, Asia, I’m not particular.  But, to me, there is something romantic and also adventurous about this form of travel.

#4  Go to a Showing of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon

I just love Jimmy Fallon.  I’d especially love it if I went to one with JT as the guest and they sing and dance together.  That would really be great.  Does anyone know anyone at NBC?

#5  Visit every U.S. National Park

One thing I learned on my 4-month Next Chapter Best Chapter road trip is that we live in a vast, diverse, and beautiful country. I tried to go to as many national parks as I could, and each and every one of them was amazing in its own way. I have many left to see in my lifetime, so I need to get on it! But here are the ones I have been to throughout my life:

Kenai Fjords – Alaska
Grand Canyon – Arizona
Petrified Forest – Arizona
Joshua Tree – California
Redwood – California
Sequoia – California
Yosemite – California
Everglades – Florida
Great Smokey Mountains – North Carolina/Tennessee
Theodore Roosevelt – North Dakota
Badlands – South Dakota
Capitol Reef – Utah
Zion – Utah
Shenandoah – Virginia
Grand Teton – Wyoming
Yellowstone – Wyoming
